Japan Station Posted September 23 Share Posted September 23 Two train lines connect Kyoto Station with Nara: the JR Nara Line and the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. On the JR Nara Line your can use ICOCA (or any other IC card) on any train. Miyakoji Rapid train is the fastest. On Kintetsu Line you can use an IC card on a local (slow) train. For a faster Limited Express train you will need to buy an additional limited express ticket. The base fare can still be paid by an IC card, but a limited express ticket is also required to board this train. For more information please visit our Traveling from Kyoto Station to Nara article.
