MisoMiles Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 I love its design, and it would be an incredible experience to ride it. What destinations does the train serve, where can I board it, and how do I book tickets? Quote
Japan Station Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Yes, you can book seats on the Seibu LaView train online. The train runs primarily between Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station and Seibu-Chichibu Station in Saitama, making it convenient for visiting Chichibu’s outdoor attractions, such as scenic hiking trails, shrines, and hot springs. It's a charming little city. It’s best to reserve tickets in advance, especially during peak travel seasons or when special events are happening, to ensure you get a seat and can fully enjoy the train’s unique design and panoramic views. Outside of peak periods, tickets are usually available at the station just before departure. For online bookings, use the “Smooz” service: https://smooz.jp/Smooz/top.xhtml. Tickets can be booked up to one month in advance. Quote
Maria Fukuda Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 We recently took this train, and it truly is stunning both inside and out. The windows are enormous, take a look at the attached photos. We purchased our tickets at the station shortly before departure. Chichibu makes for a great day trip from Tokyo and isn’t crowded at all, especially on weekdays. In Chichibu, you’ll find several fascinating sights, including the Chichibu Shrine famous for its annual night festival and Mitsumine Shrine, located in a beautiful mountain setting. Hitsujiyama Park is also worth a visit, especially during cherry blossom season. Quote
