What is there to do in Shibuya besides Shibuya Scramble Crossing?

I’m planning a trip to Tokyo and considering staying in Shibuya for a few days. Besides the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, is there much to do in the Shibuya area? I’m wondering if there are enough attractions, restaurants, and activities around Shibuya Station to justify staying there, or if it might be better to stay elsewhere and just visit the crossing for a day.

Also, could you recommend some good reasonably priced hotels in the Shibuya area? I’m looking for comfortable accommodations that offer good value without breaking the bank.

Staying in Shibuya was one of the best decisions I made during my Tokyo trip. Beyond the scramble crossing, the area is teeming with life and activities.

Mornings were perfect for a stroll to the Meiji Shrine, nearby in Yoyogi Park. I loved browsing the trendy shops along Center Street, and lots of dining options nearby. Walk to Omotesando via Cat Street. It's a very nice area.

Transport wise Shibuya Station connects to the JR Yamanote Line, Tokyo Metro, and other railways, making trips to Harajuku, Ebisu, and even day trips to Kamakura easy. Ginza line takes you directly to Asakusa.

We stayed at the Sibuya Stream Hotel. It's more on the expensive side, but super modern and convenient, directly connected to the station.

Shibuya is a great place to stay if you are looking for a full Tokyo experience. Shibuya Station has many train lines, making it easy to travel anywhere.

In addition to Shibuya Sky, there are many new buildings around the station that offer endless shopping and dining opportunities, such as Hikarie and Shibuya Stream.

Visit Harajuku and Omotesando for cool shops or relax at Yoyogi Park. At night, explore Nonbei Yokocho for drinks. You can also take short trips to places like Yokohama. Everything is close and easy to reach, although the area around Shibuya Station is almost always busy, especially in the evenings and on weekends. For a more relaxing stay, choose a hotel closer to the park, north of the station.
