Yudi Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Hello, May I ask how do I purchase tickets from Osaka Station to Kanazawa Station for Thunderbird train? I browse but everytime it only gave me an option to buy rail pass for minimum 7 days while I only want to buy 3 single trips ticket. Thank you. Quote
Maria Fukuda Posted September 18 Posted September 18 You can buy tickets on the JR West website: https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/ticket/overview/ Please note that since Hokuriku Shinkansen extension in 2024 the Thunderbird train runs between Osaka and Tsuruga. You will need to transfer to Shinkansen at Tsuruga for a train to Kanazawa. Quote

I've never use the train before and is it difficult for the transfer in Tsuruga for a first time user? Thanks again. Quote
Maria Fukuda Posted September 18 Posted September 18 It is not difficult at all. Tsuruga is not a very busy station. Follow the signs to Shinkansen tracks. Take a look at this page to familiarize yourself with transfers to Shinkansen (not Tsuruga, but the signs will be similar): https://www.osakastation.com/shin-osaka-station-facilities-transfers/ Quote
