Where to stay in Shinjuku to take Narita Express

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

My partner and I are planning a trip to Tokyo, and we'll be staying in Shinjuku at the end of the trip. We're trying to find a good hotel that makes it easy to catch the Narita Express back to the airport without needing to take a taxi. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place that's convenient for this? We're aiming for mid-range options. Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers!

Based on my experience, the New South Exit is the most convenient for accessing the Narita Express at Shinjuku Station. It is less crowded than other exits and features an elevator that goes directly to the Narita Express platform.

There are several hotels within walking distance of the New South Exit, eliminating the need for a taxi ride to the station:

Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku
Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku

While these hotels are not the cheapest, they are the most convenient. You can find more affordable hotels on the North side of the station, but be prepared for a longer walk and navigating through the maze of Shinjuku Station to reach the Narita Express.

You can find a map of Shinjuku Station on this page: Shinjuku Station Map – Finding Your Way

There is also a photo of the escalator from the New South Exit going to Narita Express platform.

I'm going to agree with the previous comments:

For a convenient stay in Shinjuku with easy access to the Narita Express, consider Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku, located just a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station’s south exit. It’s a popular mid-range option known for its comfort, clean rooms, and prime location, making it easy to catch the Narita Express to the airport. Another good choice is JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku, which is also close to the station and offers modern amenities for a comfortable stay.
