David Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 We will need to transfer in Shin-Osaka from Shinkansen Hikari 501 from Kyoto that arrives at Track 22 at 09.30 to the Shinkansen Kodama 737 which departs at 09.35 from Track 20 We have luggage and are new to this station, is the available 5 minutes enough for the transfer? Japan Station Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 5 minutes is barely enough to make a transfer. It is possible, but very tight. You will need to go down escalator and then up escalator to another platform. We would recommend changing your reservation to the next train. The trains covered by the Japan Rail Pass (Hikari, Kodama, Sakura) run about every 20-30 minutes. Quote
