We plan to purchase Shinkansen tickets to Hiroshima at the ticket office at Kyoto station, but learned today that August 11th, our day of travel, is also the first celebration of a new national holiday, " Mountain Day". Will the ticket office at Kyoto station be staffed and open on August 11th? thank you in advance. Quote
Japan Station Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi Joe, Yes, the ticket office will be open on August 11th. It is open every day, including public holidays. You can also buy a Shinkansen ticket in advance at any other station, including Narita and Haneda airports. Quote
