We plan to purchase Shinkansen tickets to Hiroshima at the ticket office at Kyoto station, but learned today that August 11th, our day of travel, is also the first celebration of a new national holiday, " Mountain Day". Japan Station Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Hi Joe, Yes, the ticket office will be open on August 11th. It is open every day, including public holidays.
