Shansan
We are planning a day trip to Kyoto from Osaka. The nearest station for us is Dobutsuen-Mae Station. We are intending to purchase the Kansai Thru Pass and understand this pass can be used at Kyoto. But we are confused over which train should we take to the tourist site. Our plan is to visit the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Shosei-en Garden and Fushimi Inari, but have not decided on where we should start. It would be great if you are able to advise on traveling by both train and bus. Thanks!
Mewby
The Kyoto Imperial Palace is only 5 minutes walk from Imadegawa Station of the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line or Karasuma Imadegawa of Kyoto City Bus. Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is about 15 minutes walk from JR Arashiyama Station or Arashiyama Station of Randen Arashiyama Line. You can get all the necessary information about The Shosei-en Garden on this article: https://www.kyotostation.com/the-shosei-en-garden/ Fushimi Inari is right infront of JR Inari Station. It is 10 minutes walk from Fushimi-Inari Station of Keihan Electric Railway Keihan Main Line. This page has information on which services are covered by the Kansai Thru Pass: https://www.surutto.com/tickets/kansai_thru_english01.html I believe you can find useful information at the links above. I hope that helps!
