MM6677
I did some reading about these two IC cards, but I don't know the difference between them. Hence, which one should I be getting to use in Tokyo? Also, can I use either of them when I am in Kyoto and Osaka?
Japan Station
Both Suica and Pasmo can be used and reloaded in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and in all other major cities. You can use one city’s cards for transport in another city, but they can’t be used to travel long distances from one metro area to another, Tokyo to Osaka for example. The only difference between Suica and Pasmo is if you decide to return your card for a stored value refund, Suica has to be returned to JR East and Pasmo to Tokyo Metro.
