I did some reading about these two IC cards, but I don't know the difference between them. Hence, which one should I be getting to use in Tokyo? Also, can I use either of them when I am in Kyoto and Osaka?

Can I travel by bus or rail from Tenryu-ji Temple in Arashiyama to Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion)? I keep reading that I have to take a taxi. What are my options?
