  1. Nankai Airport Express is a commuter train with seating similar to a subway car. There is no dedicated luggage space, but you will find that a lot of people with luggage take this train. You will have no problem taking your luggage on the Nankai Airport Express. Tickets can be bought at the airport station.   2. Please note that Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku is located near Shinjuku Station, not Shibuya. From Shinagawa Station take the Yamanote line to Shinjuku Station, then follow the signs to the New South Exit.
  3. The Shinkansen trains between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto run every 10-15 minutes. There is no need to book tickets in advance.

  6. You can take the Rapi:t train from Shin-Imamiya to KIX as long as you already have a valid ticket (not exchange voucher) or buy a ticket at the station. Vouchers can only be redeemed at Namba.

If you have heavy luggage and prefer to take a taxi it will cost around 1000 yen.

  11. Please note that Kanku Webtoku voucher can only be exchanged at Nankai Namba Station Service Center (2F). You cannot exchange the voucher for a ticket at Namba station (3F) and other stations such as Shin-imamiya sta. Tengachaya sta. and so on. After the voucher is exchanged for a ticket you can take the actual train from any station, including Tengachaya.
  12. Yes, there is a luggage delivery service at Kanazawa Station. Contact the Tourist Information Center near the station’s East Exit. Luggage sent to other cities is usually delivered on the next day.
  13. If you use separate tickets then you will need to exit ticket gates at Sengakuji and re-enter with Tokyo Subway pass. If you buy the special Weclome Tokyo subway pass you can stay on the train all the way to Asakusa.
  14. There is a special Welcome Tokyo Subway pass that includes Keikyu line one way or return from/to Haneda Airport and unlimited travel on Tokyo subway lines for 24, 48 or 72 hours. It is not possible to make a reservation without an actual activated JR Pass and the person who's name is on the pass. https://www.japanstation.com/japan-rail-pass-discounted-travel-on-japan-railways/ It is possible to buy tickets at a ticket counter in advance with cash. You will not get your money back with a JR Pass. The last Shinkansen train of the day from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo depart around 8:30pm. Another alternative is to spend the night in Osaka and take a Shinkansen train to Tokyo in the morning. The first train departs around 6am.
  16. Kansai Thru Pass only covers non-JR lines, it does NOT cover Shinkansen lines. The shinkansen bullet train travels between Shin-Kobe Station and Shin-Osaka Station in just 13 minutes. An unreserved ticket costs 1,500 yen and a reserved seat costs 2,890 yen. https://www.osakastation.com/traveling-from-osaka-to-kobe/ Infants (up to 5 years old) travel for free with no reserved seat. Child (6 to 11 years old) fares are 50 % of the adult price.
  17. It is technically possible, but there is a good chance that all the compartments will be sold out on that day. This train is often sold out on the day of travel. It may be a good idea to make alternate plans in case there are no compartments available on this train.
  18. Isetan at Kyoto Station will close at 6:00 pm on December 31st and reopen at 9:30 am on January 2nd. Aeon mall is open every day during the New Year holidays. The souvenir shops within the station will be open every day, most other shops in the city usually stay closed on January 1st, but are open on all other days around the New Year.
  19. With a Japan Rail Pass you can travel in a basic compartment on the Sunrise Seto & Sunrise Izumo at no extra charge. All compartments on these trains are reserved. You will need to make a reservation with your Japan Rail Pass before boarding the train. Reservations can be made at any JR ticket office in Japan. Unfortunately, there are no online reservations for these trains. You will need to make reservations in person. We suggest making reservations in advance as soon as you arrive in Japan and activate your Japan Rail Pass.
  20. The Limited Express Shinano is operated by JR Central. It doesn't offer online reservations. You can make a reservation at any JR ticket office in Japan in person.

Your hotel will be able to arrange Yamato luggage delivery for you. We suggest confirming delivery times at the hotel reception at least a day in advance.

  25. Kansai Thru Pass will cover base fare from KIX to Namba. You will need to pay an extra fee of around 500 yen to upgrade to Rapi:t with a reserved seat.
