  1. The best way to recover your property, if it was turned in, is to call during business hours.

The lost and found contact number for Kyoto bus (Japanese language only): Traffic Bureau Inquiry Office (bus) : 075-801-2561

  2. Generally, you can use a locker for a maximum of three days. After three days your property will be transferred to another storage area. If your property is not claimed from storage within 30 days it will be disposed of.

We suggest that you contact tourist information counter at Osaka Station to confirm exactly how the three days are counted, the fee and if the locker will be accessible in early morning. https://www.osakastation.com/osaka-station-city-facilities/

  3. Yes, you can use a Suica Card to travel from KIX to Namba on Nankai Line.

All major IC cards in Japan are inter-operable between the regions, if you can use ICOCA in Kansai region then you can use Suica. Here is a map where ICOCA can be used in Kansai: https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/ticket/icoca-haruka/pdf/icoca_area.pdf

Going from KIX to Namba you can take The Airport Express commuter train (44 minutes) and The Rapi:t Airport Express (34-37 minutes).

For the commuter train just go through the gates with your Suica card. The fare is 920 yen one way.

For The Rapi:t Airport Express you need to buy a reserved seat ticket at the machine or at the counter. The fare is 1130 yen one way.

You can find more details here: https://www.osakastation.com/the-nankai-airport-line-the-airport-express-rapit-services-for-kansai-airport-namba/

  4. Do you plan to use a Japan Rail Pass? With a Japan Rail Pass you can make free seat reservations for Haruka and Shinkansen at any JR ticket office, including the one at Kansai Airport. Walk up to a JR ticket counter, show your JR Pass and say that you want to reserve seats on Haruka at a specific time and Hikari Shinkansen at a specific time (30 min after Haruka arrival).

If you don't have a JR Pass, the process is the same but you select trains/seats and pay for tickets at the same time.

  5. 15 minutes is more than enough to transfer from Haruka to Shinkansen (platform 30 to 12) as long as you don't stop anywhere along the way.

Kyoto Station is not as complex as Tokyo or Shinjuku. There are clear signs at the station. Follow the signs to Shinkansen tracks. You can see the station layout and what the signs look like on this page: https://www.kyotostation.com/kyoto-station-map-finding-your-way/

Alternatively, when reserving your tickets select the next Shinkansen train, Nozomi run every 10-15 min, Hikari (covered by Japan Rails Pass) about every 30 min. Hyperdia shows the fastest route, but you are free to pick a connecting train at a later time when making a reservation.

  6. Travelers with a JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass can reserve seats online but the tickets have to be picked up before 9pm on the day before travel.

    https://www.eki-net.com/pc/jreast-shinkansen-reservation/English/wb/common/Menu/Menu.aspx

    > When using a Rail Pass to book a reserved seat ticket, the ticket should be picked up within the valid area of the pass. Picking up the ticket outside the valid area will result in a reserved seat charge as though the pass were not being used.

    > Please collect your tickets before 9:00 p.m. (21:00, Japan Standard Time) of the day before your departure. Tickets cannot be collected on the day of departure.

There are usually seats available on the day of travel. You can make seat reservations after you arrive in Japan and activate your pass.

  7. There is no contact email on the website. You can try calling them: +81-3-5361-8750

Q08.Do I need to pre-book to store baggage?
There is no need to pre-book. However, if you want to use the service as a group we will be able to offer a smoother service if you contact us in advance.

Q10.Can I store golf bags, skis, surfboards, snowboards, golf clubs, musical instruments or bicycles?
Yes. However, please understand that the maximum size per item is the “200 Size”.

Q01.Are there any size restrictions for baggage?
Baggage must be 200 cm or less in total dimensions of the three sides, and 30 kg or less in weight.

  8. Seibu Shinjuku station is on the East side of the main JR Shinjuku Station and Washington Hotel is on the West side. It will take about 20 minutes to walk.

Washington Hotel is next to Tokyo Metropolitan Government building. There is an underground walkway from the West side of the station (just follow the signs to Tokyo Metropolitan Government building).

If you have a lot of luggage taking a taxi is probably a good idea.

  9. There is one daily direct service from Osaka to Takayama. You can find more details here: https://www.osakastation.com/limited-express-hida-gifu-gero-takayama/

The alternative is to take Shinkansen from Osaka to Nagoya and take an express train from there: https://www.nagoyastation.com/the-limited-express-hida-for-gifu-gero-takayama-toyama/

For traveling around Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe consider getting a JR Pass that covers all JR lines (including Takayama) or Kansai Thru Pass that covers all private lines in the area.

  10. There is no manned baggage storage office at Sapporo Station, but there are plenty of lockers of various sizes.

If you are staying in a hotel in Sapporo, most hotels will keep your luggage on the day of your check-in (if you arrive early) or after your check-out. You can also use luggage delivery service to send your bags to your next destination.
