Hello Susanna, The main ticket office at Kyoto Station is open every day from 5:30-23:00. You can also buy tickets in advance at any JR ticket office in Japan.

Hello there, The cost of sending baggage from Kyoto Station to a hotel in Kyoto is 1,000 yen per item. You can find more details here: https://handsfree-japan.com/en/service/carry/ To find the baggage room at Kyoto Station check this article (it's towards the end of the article): https://www.kyotostation.com/kyoto-station-lockers-luggage-storage/ I hope that helps. Best wishes, Michael

Thank you for your help again! I ended up buying a 3-day Kansai Thru Pass for a Osaka-Himeji-Kyoto trip. It was great, particularly because it includes all the local subway so there was no need to keep buying subway tickets. Hope this helps others too.

The substitute bus will add about 20 to 30 minutes to the trip. If you are planning to stay overnight at Koyasan this shouldn’t affect the transit time significantly.

If your phone was found it will be turned over to local police. Lost and Found offices in Japan do not ship items overseas. If you know someone in Japan they can pick up your property on your behalf. Please refer to our Complete Guide to Lost and Found in Japan
